WC Norway 2023 Long (27/04/2023)

89th place - I can't say I'm disappointed, because I was not even sure if I could run the entire course, but of course I can't be satisfied with this result. I started the race stable and without any major mistakes and managed the first part of the race quite well. Since I had been sick for the last few days and hadn't fully recovered until this race, I got tired already on the long leg to control 8, even though I didn't start very fast.After control 21 it felt like a switch was flipped and I had no strength left at all. I started losing a lot of time on each leg and lost even more because with fatigue came mistakes (control 26 and 27). In the end I lost almost 30 positions from the Arena passage to the finish and I was just happy to find my way back. Technically, I feel pretty comfortable in this terrain, but physically I am too weak.
